Fees
Depending on your case, I charge based upon a flat fee, hourly, or contingency basis. Flat fee cases are charged a single amount on a one-time basis and will cover the entirety of the case or a specified portion of the case. For instance, most misdemeanor criminal cases are handled on a flat fee basis, but that fee does not include the cost of a trial, if trial occurs. Other cases, including most civil cases, are billed on an hourly basis and usually require a retainer. The retainer will be placed in the firm's trust account. I keep detailed logs of the amount of time spent on the case and will bill you monthly. That monthly invoice will be deducted from any remaining retainer. Monthly invoices also include third party costs, such as postage, filing, legal research tools, copies, etc. You may be asked to replenish the retainer once your remaining balance gets below a certain amount.

The ultimate cost of your case is very detail-dependent. I am happy to work with clients on an individual basis to determine a payment plan, if necessary. Please feel free to contact me for more information on fees.
